Superstar Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan’s Vettaiyan saw a further drop in numbers on Thursday, October 17. This marked its lowest-ever collection since its release on October 10. According to the tracking website, Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 3 crore nett at the domestic box office. It is to be seen how the film will perform in its second weekend in theatres. The film is inching closer towards Rs 150-crore mark (nett) in India.
In its four-day opening weekend, Vettaiyan managed to gross Rs 240 crore worldwide. However, the collections saw a huge drop during the weekdays. Due to unprecedented rains in Tamil Nadu and other areas, theatre occupancy during the weekdays were less.
On October 17, Vettaiyan registered its lowest-ever collection at Rs 3.15 crore nett in India. In eight days, the film earned over Rs 122.10 crore nett at the domestic box office.
The Tamil version of Vettaiyan recorded an overall occupancy of 16.79 per cent on October 17 in India.

Vettaiyan is an action drama, directed by TJ Gnanavel. The film features Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Abhirami, Dushara Vijayan and Ritika Singh in pivotal roles. The film’s screenplay is jointly written by Gnanavel and B Kiruthika.
Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, the film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Cinematographer SR Kathir and editor Philomin Raj are part of the technical team.
